Teaching methods of the teacher you observed
The choice of learning method must be interesting and
varied so that it can be of interest to students. Apart from improving the
physical fitness and health of students, it also creates an experience that
will be remembered in the future. Teachers may use technology, group
discussions, research projects, and various other learning tools to enhance
student understanding. Like the teacher I observed during my classroom
observation. Sir Israel Q. Quadra using game
methods to make children move and feel happy. Game-based pedagogical methods
aim to produce a better understanding of all aspects of play, while increasing
levels of physical activity, engagement, motivation and enjoyment in physical
education lessons. Before going into the material being taught, the teacher
provides related modified games. Playing games is done to fill free time and is
entertainment that is generally done by children.

Authentic
Assesment Used by Teacher
Authentic assessment consists of various assessment techniques. First, direct measurement of student skills related to long-term educational outcomes such as success in the workplace. Second, assessment of tasks that require extensive involvement and complex performance. Third, process analysis is used to produce student responses regarding the acquisition of existing attitudes, skills and knowledge. Based on my observations, teachers give homework first to get an evaluation of the next topic that they still don't understand and to evaluate their understanding of previous learning. This is my second observation in learning and teaching. Apart from that, the teacher also gives group discussion quizzes that you need to remember
Teaching Plan
Curriculum
The curriculum used in the Philippines is K to 12. This program K to 12 program includes Kindergarten and 12 years of primary education (six years of elementary school, four years of middle school, and two years of high school [SHS]. The focus is on communicative competence and multiliteracy. Students must be more active and teachers must regulate the way students express their opinions and be more communicative in class. it is student-centered.
Teaching Plan Related to Your major
So I did my first class observation on September 26 2023 this first week. The teacher introduced me as an exchange student and participating in the SEA Teacher program. The teacher also told me that I was from Indonesia. Then I was asked to greet and introduce myself in front of all 6th grade students and sweetly a student gave me chocolate.
(Observation in the class)
The teachers are very professional, learning not only explains but also teachers provide learning motivation to students so they are enthusiastic about the learning process and relate the learning material to everyday life so that students can easily understand the material being studied.
1. Teaching Practice
Teaching Procedures
After the first day of conducting class observations, on the second, third and fourth days I discussed with my cooperative teacher to discuss what material I would teach and how to prepare a good lesson plan that was in accordance with the lesson plan's systematics from College of Teacher Education. In the process of preparing the lesson plan, the mentor teacher is fully assisted in providing direction, advice, and input.
This is the systematic preparation of making a Learning Plan. Teaching procedures according to Junior High School Lesson Plan. Before compiling the Lesson plan, I was taught and given guidance in compiling the Lesson plan.
This is the RPP for learning material related to fitness components and their assessment which will be taught in grade 6. At this first meeting, what was discussed in this RPP was the definition or assessment of fitness. Students are asked to know what the components are and how to put them into practice.

1. Time management and
organizing activities
Time management and organization of activities vary depending on the student's goals, the scope of the material/topics to be covered, and the level of difficulty. In the Philippines, sports education is included in MAPEH lessons. With a duration of 40 minutes, the warm-up/playing stage lasts 15 minutes, the explanation stage lasts 15 minutes, and the evaluation stage lasts 10 minutes. However, the duration above is not fixed/patent because in its application learning can be readjusted to the conditions and circumstances during the learning process.
Class Management
Before learning activities begin, it is a good idea if all preparations have been prepared thoroughly and well, starting from learning materials, learning models and learning conditions or environments. Class management must be done well, in order to create an effective and smooth learning atmosphere. In this way students will focus on receiving learning material from the teacher so that learning objectives are achieved effectively and efficiently.
The activities developed in the RPP are all student-centered. Therefore, the teacher acts as a facilitator. Apart from providing verbal and written instructions on student activity sheets, instructions for each activity are also displayed on PowerPoint presentation slides, so that students can easily ask questions if there are instructions or activities that they do not understand. When discussions and activities have started, the next thing that must be done is mastering the class, in the sense of not focusing on just one thing so that students have easier and faster access to ask questions. As a teacher, don't be rude to your students, but that doesn't mean you can be as casual as possible. Students must be given strict rules, the aim of which is to ensure mutual respect between teachers and students. One thing that is no less important is the provision of icebreaking. This needs to be done so that students do not feel bored or stressed with the material provided. Icebreaking can also be related to the material/topic being discussed, but of course the form and media need to be readjusted.
(The picture of my class in the first week of teaching)
This is my last week of teaching activities in class. My final demonstration lesson material is still the same regarding fitness components. At this meeting I also asked students to recall what they had learned yesterday to find out whether they understood or not. Apart from that, at this meeting I also presented PowerPoint and videos related to this material. All the students were very excited and also liked playing the video because the video contained cute animated images. In the end, after finishing all the questions, I confirmed their answers together. That day was my last day teaching that class.

Problem-Solving While Teaching and
staying in the designated school
Determining what activities should be designed while still paying attention to the content and level of understanding of students is a challenge for me. When I first drafted the lesson plan, I repeatedly had to revise. But that's where I finally learned a lot and it was easier to compile the next lesson plan. The key to a successful lesson plan is to suit the students who will be targeted and be able to realize the designed learning objectives. However, sometimes, some unplanned things can happen, for example students finish too quickly from the allocation of time given so that additional activities need to be given, or students cannot complete the given activity targets until the given deadline so that some activities eventually need to be replaced, postponed, or skipped with these considerations.
Summary and Sugestions
Purposes of practicum
The main objective of this SEA Teacher program is to provide experience to prospective teachers to teach on an international scale in ASEAN countries, and if asked if this has met what I previously expected. I would unhesitatingly reply, "Yes, even exceeding my expectations and making me grateful again and again for the umpteenth time". My initial purpose in participating in this program was not only to enrich my teaching experience, especially on an international scale like this was also to exchange insights about culture, methods, and teaching styles, expand horizons, and improve English skills which are bare necessities as part of global citizens. Although the SEA Teacher period was quite short, I managed to fulfill those initial expectations and even get a new family, and new friends, and had the opportunity to feel the hospitality of the people here which was very heartwarming and made me want to stay longer.
Procedures
of practicum
The procedure of teaching practice begins with class observation followed by teaching assistants and the preparation of lesson plans (including instructions and materials). During this stage, cooperating teachers gave a lot of suggestions and feedback in order to improve the lesson plan made. The stages then continue with the implementation of teaching practice, and final demos, and ends with the provision of feedback from the teacher.
Outcomes of Practicum
The outcomes of this practicum are divided into physical and non-physical results. Physical outcomes are in the form of lesson plans instructions and accompanying materials. The non-physical results are first, the ability to compile lesson plans and instructions and materials based on the K to 12 Curriculum; second, the ability to execute lesson plans that have been designed; third, the ability to manage time, master the class, and be responsive to classroom situations to always be ready to make alternative plans and other adjustments. In addition, the unforgettable and lasting outcome is a sweet memory with fellow SEA Teachers, teachers, students, kuya, and ate, as well as the community here who have welcomed and delivered us warmly.
Overall Impression
International student exchange is very valuable in my life. I am very enthusiastic about taking part in this program, I have gained a lot of knowledge from language, culture, and even visited several places that are full of history and very beautiful. For me going abroad alone is not an easy thing. However, on this occasion I was able to gain new knowledge abroad, namely at the University of Northten Philippines, Vigan City, Philippines. Going abroad is a dream of mine that I have written and dreamed about, and it has come true. I feel very lucky to be able to take part in this program, apart from being able to go abroad, I can also teach as a teacher here which has several differences with Indonesia, every time I teach in class all the students are excited about learning even though it is already midday and they are not even afraid. answer questions by the teacher. I am very grateful to be able to take part in this program which is a very enjoyable thing and will be a very beautiful memory. I am also very enthusiastic because I can gain a lot of knowledge from language, culture, even visiting several places that are full of history and very beautiful.
Suggestions for future improvement
Thank you to all parties who have helped run this program. I hope I can become a great teacher, a teacher who is loved by my students and a good example for my students. I really hope that considering that the majority of our SEA Teacher students are Muslim, we would like to give a little advice regarding the timing of some activities that might be adjusted so that we can carry out our worship on time. Thank you very much for your tolerance during this time.
